Job summary

Citi is seeking a senior software engineer for the Equity Finance Technology team in Hong Kong. You will lead technical delivery, work with traders, and build business solutions using Java in an agile environment.

The role requires strong Java expertise, experience in high‑pressure settings, and collaboration with a global team across time zones. Knowledge of Kafka, SQL, and Git is essential.

Qualifications

6-10 years of relevant experience in apps development or systems analysis.
Experience in programming software applications and in managing projects.
SME in at least one area of Applications Development.
Ability to adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate.
Strong collaboration with global teams across geographies and time zones.

Responsibilities

Resolve high impact problems and optimize complex business processes and system workflows.
Provide expertise in applications programming and ensure alignment with architecture.
Develop standards for coding, testing, debugging, and deployment.
Gain deep knowledge of business areas and how architecture and infrastructure integrate.
Deliver innovative solutions through in-depth analysis and guidance.
Coach mid-level developers and analysts, allocating work as needed.
Ensure risk awareness and compliance with laws, policy, and controls.
