Job summary

Michael Page International (Hong Kong) Limited in Kowloon is seeking a senior software developer to design, develop, and maintain enterprise applications using Java and modern web technologies.

You will build scalable backend services with Spring Boot and microservices, develop React.js user interfaces, collaborate with stakeholders, and contribute across the full SDLC to ensure performance and reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of software development delivering enterprise applications.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate/JPA, and React.js.
• Proven expertise in designing RESTful APIs and microservices.

Job Description

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise applications using Java and modern web technologies.

• Develop and enhance user-facing applications with React.js and full-stack technologies.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders and technical teams to gather and analyse requirements.
• Participate throughout the SDLC, including design, development, testing, deployment, and support.
• Optimise application performance, reliability, and system scalability.
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement sustainable technical solutions.
• Contribute to Agile ceremonies and work closely with onshore and offshore teams.
• Maintain code quality through version control, code reviews, and best development practices.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and engineering excellence across projects.

The Successful Applicant

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of software development experience delivering enterprise applications.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate/JPA, and React.js.
• Proven expertise in designing and developing RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.
• Familiarity with messaging and caching technologies including Kafka and Redis.
• Knowledge of Git version control and Jira project management tools.
• Experience working within Agile frameworks such as Scrum or Kanban.
• Exposure to AWS services, including ECS, S3, and Lambda, is advantageous.
• Understanding of DevOps tools and practices such as Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, and CI/CD pipelines is preferred.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent communication skills with experience collaborating across cross-functional teams.
