Job summary

Warner Bros. Discovery in Hong Kong is seeking an Intern for the Digital Video team to support daily news coverage. You will monitor the news cycle, gather elements, and conduct research to help craft compelling short-form stories.

The ideal candidate is a video-first storyteller who thrives under pressure and can contribute to script writing and in-house editing, while collaborating with reporters on-site.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing an undergraduate or master's degree.
• Strong passion in video journalism and keen to develop editorial judgment in a fast-paced newsroom.
• Must have right of abode in Hong Kong or hold a valid student visa with NOL from HK Immigration.
• Ideal candidate can commit to a full-time internship for 8 to 12 weeks.

Your New Role...

CNN’s Digital Video team creates original video content for all CNN platforms. We write, produce, shoot and edit, working collaboratively across the organization to cover breaking news, trending topics, and important issues. From terrorist attacks to immigration to economic and climate crisis, we tell human-centered stories with the aim of informing, inspiring and engaging the largest global digital audience in news today.

The Intern, Digital Video will monitor the news of the day, pitch story ideas, gather elements, and do research. Once familiar with those essential steps in video storytelling, there will be opportunity to write scripts, edit video in-house, and film with reporters at the office.

The ideal candidate is a video-first storyteller who thrives under pressure and enjoys the challenge of short-form editing.

Experience required:

• Currently pursuing an Undergradute or Masters degree.
• Strong passion in video journalism and and keen to develop strong editorial judgment skills in a fast-paced newsroom setting.
• Candidates must have the right of abode in Hong Kong or hold a valid student visa and No Objection Letter (NOL) from the Hong Kong Immigration Department.
• Candidates should ideally be able to commit to a full-time internship for 8 to 12 weeks.
