Job summary

ESF Kennedy School in Hong Kong is seeking a Teacher of Chinese to begin in August 2027 on a one-year contract. You will design inclusive, hands-on Chinese language and culture learning aligned with the IB PYP, differentiating instruction to meet diverse learners.

You will collaborate with colleagues, engage in ESF CPD, and contribute to school initiatives while maintaining a student-centred environment and using learning technologies to innovate instruction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a Bachelor’s degree in any subject with a Postgraduate.
• Certificate/Diploma in Education (PGCE/PGDE).
• iPGCE (assessment only) is not eligible for Teacher Registration status by the Hong Kong Education Bureau.
• Understanding and application of the PYP within an international context.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver Chinese language and cultural learning engagements aligned with IBO philosophy.
• Use differentiated instruction to support and challenge every student.
• Maintain a student-centred environment and integrate learning technologies.
• Identify and remove learning barriers, offering flexible options to show learning and growth.
• Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to learners and parents.
