Job summary

Google Cloud's Principal Architect for Web3 will serve as the executive technical authority guiding APAC engagements across the Web3, digital assets, and decentralized technology ecosystem. You will engage with protocol foundations, institutional exchanges, digital asset custodians, financial institutions tokenizing real-world assets, and high-growth decentralized applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 10 years of experience in system architecture, distributed systems design, or cloud infrastructure in an enterprise customer-facing or technical leadership role.
• 4 years of experience architecting, deploying, or operating production-grade Web3 systems, blockchain protocols, or smart contract ecosystems.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the trusted technical advisor to C-level executives, protocol founders, and chief architects across strategic Web3 accounts and financial institutions in APAC.
• Design, validate, and document scalable enterprise architectures that bridge decentralized protocols with cloud infrastructure, including high-throughput RPC node clusters, validator operations, blockchain indexing pipelines, and confidential key management.
• Author repeatable technical assets, reference implementations, and architectural whitepapers that scale Web3 capabilities across regional Customer Engineering and Partner teams.
• Connect field requirements directly with Google Cloud product management and engineering, driving feature prioritization and roadmap development for products.
• Guide customers on enterprise risk, security, and compliance architectures for virtual assets, aligning with regional regulatory frameworks (HKMA, SFC).

• 4 years of experience architecting, deploying, or operating production-grade Web3 systems, blockchain protocols (e.g., EVM-compatible Layer 1/Layer 2, Solana, Move, or Cosmos), or smart contract ecosystems.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience with institutional digital asset infrastructure, including Multi-Party Computation (MPC), hardware security modules (Cloud HSM), transaction signing architectures, and confidential computing.
• Experience designing and operating high-availability, low-latency blockchain node infrastructure, indexing layers, and validator networks at scale on Kubernetes/Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE).
• Experience with Zero-Knowledge (ZK) infrastructure, rollup architectures, cross-chain messaging protocols, or Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Networks (DePIN).
• Practical experience with smart contract engineering, protocol security audits, and formal verification frameworks.
• Knowledge of institutional Web3 use cases, including Real-World Asset (RWA) tokenization, stablecoin rails, tokenized deposits, and custody architectures within regulated financial environments.

As a Principal Architect for Web3, you will serve as the executive technical authority guiding Google Cloud’s most strategic engagements across the Web3, digital assets, and decentralized technology ecosystem in APAC. You will engage with protocol foundations, institutional exchanges, digital asset custodians, financial institutions tokenizing real-world assets, and high-growth decentralized applications.

In this role, you will operate at the intersection of executive business strategy and deep distributed systems architecture. You will guide C-level executives, protocol founders, and chief architects through high-stakes technical decisions, resolving architectural blockers and demonstrating how Google Cloud’s infrastructure, data analytics, AI and security platforms accelerate their roadmap. You will also act as the primary bridge between our customers and Google Cloud's product and engineering organizations. By identifying common architectural friction points across the industry, you will author reusable reference architectures, influence Google's Web3 product roadmap, and establish Google Cloud as the cloud of choice for Web3 builders and institutional adopters.
