Qualifications

  • 6+ years of HR experience in an HRBP or HR Manager role.
  • Experience working with a local Hong Kong group or conglomerate preferred.
  • Proven track record handling HR matters for HK and Mainland China operations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic HR advisory to business unit heads and the CHRO.
  • Design and execute commercial people plans and talent strategies.
  • Deliver data-driven insights on headcount planning and organizational design.
  • Act as a change agent to improve group culture and performance.
  • Navigate HK Employment Ordinance and Mainland China labour laws.
  • Lead talent mapping, performance management, succession planning, and retention programs.

Our client is a well-established, premium local Hong Kong group with a diverse business portfolio. Known for their strong market presence and steady growth, they are now seeking a high-caliber Group HR Business Partner to join their headquarters. This is a newly created, highly visible role reporting directly to the CHRO, offering an excellent path for career progression.

Position Overview

As a Group HRBP, you will bridge the gap between corporate strategy and business execution. You will work closely with business unit leaders and the CHRO to drive talent strategies that support commercial growth. This role requires an HR professional who is a true business thinker, with a sharp understanding of both Hong Kong and Mainland China labor landscapes.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic HR Advisory

  • Partner with business unit heads to design and execute commercial people plans.
  • Deliver data-driven insights to the CHRO to help make decisions on headcount planning and organizational design.
  • Act as a change agent to drive group corporate culture and performance improvement.

Cross-Border Compliance & Employee Relations

  • Act as the subject matter expert on Hong Kong Employment Ordinance and Mainland China Labour Laws.
  • Mitigate business risks by handling complex employee relations issues and cross-border labor disputes smoothly.
  • Review and align group HR policies to ensure compliance across different regional entities.

Talent & Performance Optimization

  • Guide business leaders through performance management, succession planning, and talent mapping.
  • Identify capability gaps and design proactive retention and engagement programs.

Experience

  • 6+ years of HR experience, with a solid track record as an HRBP or HR Manager.
  • Prior experience working within a local Hong Kong group or conglomerate is highly preferred.
  • Proven experience managing HR matters for operations spanning both HK and Mainland China.

Skills & Attributes

  • Strong commercial acumen—you understand how business operations, revenue streams, and people intersect.
  • Expert knowledge of labor laws, tax regulations, and social insurance setups in both HK and China.
  • Fluency in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin is mandatory to communicate effectively with regional stakeholders.
  • Confident presentation and stakeholder management skills to work directly with the C-suite.
