Knight Frank Greater China is seeking a seasoned HR Generalist/Business Partner to support the people strategy across the Greater China region. You will partner with business leaders, advising on talent management, workforce planning, and employee relations to drive organisational effectiveness.

The role requires 8+ years of HR experience, strong knowledge of HK employment law, and the ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution.

Job description

Reporting to the Head of Human Resources, Greater China, the successful candidate will be a key member of the HR team, supporting the development and execution of the people strategy and HR agenda across Greater China. The role serves as a trusted partner to business leaders and department heads, providing strategic and operational HR support across the full employee lifecycle.

The successful candidate will be a well-rounded HR generalist with strong business partnering capabilities, sound commercial judgement and the ability to balance strategic thinking with hands‑on execution. This role offers significant exposure to senior management and will play an important role in driving organisational effectiveness, talent development, employee engagement and HR best practices across the Greater China business.

Responsibilities
HR Business Partnering
  • Partner with department heads and business leaders to provide proactive HR advice and solutions aligned with business objectives.
  • Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders and support leaders in driving people management excellence.
  • Coach managers on talent management, employee relations, organisational effectiveness and workforce planning.
  • Act as a key representative of the HR function and support the Head of HR in delivering the Greater China people agenda.
  • Represent the HR function in regional projects, management discussions and business initiatives as required.
Talent & Organisation Development
  • Support leadership development initiatives, talent review and succession planning across the business.
  • Drive learning and development programmes to enhance management capability and employee performance.
  • Support organisational change initiatives, restructures and business transformation projects when required.
Talent Acquisition
  • Manage end-to-end recruitment process by attracting and selecting the right candidates with right set of skills and competencies and making a hiring decision.
  • Develop effective sourcing strategies and strengthen employer branding initiatives.
  • Drive graduate, internship and early-career programmes to build future talent pipelines.
Employee Engagement & Culture
  • Lead employee engagement, wellbeing and recognition initiatives.
  • Manage employee surveys and support business leaders in implementing action plans arising from employee feedback.
  • Promote a positive, inclusive and high-performance culture aligned with company values.
HR Operations & Governance
  • Lead or support annual HR processes including manpower planning, budgeting, salary reviews, bonus reviews and performance management exercises.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable employment legislation and company policies.
  • Leverage HR data and analytics to provide insights and recommendations to management.
HR Projects
  • Support the implementation of new HR programmes, systems and people initiatives
  • Drive cross-border collaboration between Hong Kong and Mainland China offices to ensure alignment of people practices where appropriate.
Requirements
  • Minimum 8 years’ progressive HR experience with broad exposure across HR business partnering and generalist functions, preferably gained in a sizeable professional services, real estate or multinational organisation.
  • Strong knowledge of Hong Kong employment legislation, with exposure to Mainland China employment practices an advantage.
  • Proven track record of partnering with senior stakeholders and influencing business decisions through sound HR advice, commercial judgement and a solutions-oriented approach.
  • Highly organised and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently while effectively balancing strategic and operational responsibilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal, stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence, build credibility at all levels and serve as a trusted adviser to business leaders.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, discretion and sound judgement.
  • Curious, adaptable and technology-oriented, with a strong interest in leveraging AI and digital tools to enhance HR effectiveness, employee experience and business outcomes.
  • Degree holder in Human Resources Management, Business Administration or a related discipline.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English, Cantonese and Mandarin.
