Job summary

Selby Jennings, on behalf of a global quantitative hedge fund, seeks a Software Engineer - Research Platform to design and build distributed services powering large-scale research workloads across a global platform.

You will contribute to platform APIs, tooling, and infrastructure to improve researchers' productivity, reliability, and security, working with HPC environments and data-driven systems at scale.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience building and operating distributed systems.
• Proficient in C++, Java, Rust, or Go.
• Experience with platform engineering or internal developer platforms.
• Strong problem-solving and system design skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate distributed services for compute workloads and data access.
• Develop platform APIs and tooling to improve researcher productivity.
• Improve scalability, reliability, and performance of research infrastructure.
• Build solutions for scheduling, resource management, observability, and security.
• Partner with researchers and infra teams to deliver platform capabilities.
• Own systems from design through production operation.
