Job summary

Tokalent is assisting a leading Asian crypto exchange group in hiring a Head of Custody - Virtual Asset to oversee digital asset custody services in Hong Kong. You will drive the custody strategy, policies, and security controls to safeguard client assets.

The role requires 7+ years in finance/fintech with 2+ in custody, fluency in English, and preferably written Cantonese/Mandarin. You will lead audits, liaise with regulators, and manage external custodians in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance or related field; Master's preferred.
• Minimum 7 years in finance/fintech with 2 years in digital asset custody or related field.
• Strong knowledge of custody practices, processes, and security protocols.
• Familiarity with blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies.
• Understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance frameworks for custody.
• Excellent leadership and managerial skills; strong communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive digital asset custody strategy.
• Establish custody policies, procedures, and controls in line with regulatory requirements.
• Oversee safekeeping, storage, and movement of digital assets.
• Ensure compliance with industry best practices and security standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate custody with trading operations.
• Manage relationships with third-party custodians and service providers.
• Conduct regular audits and reviews of custody processes and systems.
• Stay up to date with evolving blockchain technologies and security advancements.
• Provide guidance to internal stakeholders on custody-related matters.
• Prepare and present custody reports to senior management and regulatory authorities.
