Job summary

Eclipse Trading is seeking a Graduate Python Developer to join the RAD Team in its Hong Kong HQ. You will participate in an 8-week training program and work under a seasoned mentor, applying Python to real production trading and market activities.

You will collaborate with traders and quants to build and optimize Python-based solutions for algorithmic pricing and live data access, while learning in a hands-on, team-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Final year student or recent graduate with a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related disciplines.
• Demonstrable development experience in Python from academic projects, open source, or professional work.
• Passion for financial markets or work in a proprietary trading company is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve the shared Python development framework.
• Partner with traders, quants, and other teams to deliver new trading software.
• Drive key projects from inception to delivery.

Graduate Python Developer - Eclipse Trading

The successful candidate will take part in a comprehensive 8-week training program and will learn under the guidance of an experienced mentor. Your work will be used in actual production, having a direct impact on our trading and market activities.

Central to our business is the Rapid Application Development (RAD) Team who work closely with traders and quantitative analysts in the development and optimization of Python-based solutions to algorithmic pricing and trading problems. The team empowers users by providing them with easy access to live data in a framework where they can build their own automation logic.

Responsibilities and duties

• Own and evolve our shared Python development framework
• Partner closely with traders, quants and other development teams to deliver new trading software and improve our existing systems
• Drive key projects from inception to analysis, design, implementation and delivery
• Provide Tier 2 support as needed

What you offer

• A final year student or recent graduate with a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or any other related disciplines with a strong emphasis on programming
• Demonstrable development experience in Python, preferably from significant academic project work, open source contributions or professional work experience
• A passion for financial markets or working in a proprietary trading company (detailed knowledge and experience is NOT required)
• Strong analytical skills and ability to solve complex problems
• Motivation to work as part of a team as well as independently
