Job summary

Eclipse Trading, based in Hong Kong, seeks a seasoned technical professional to join our global Infrastructure and Technology Service team and keep trading IT systems running. You will support end-to-end trading applications and provide direct application assistance to trading desks.

Based in Hong Kong, the role requires 8+ years in trading support, strong Linux and scripting skills (Python, Perl, PHP), and excellent English communication.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
• 8+ years in trading support or similar technical role.
• Proficiency with Linux and scripting languages (Python, Perl, PHP).
• Strong English communication and teamwork skills.
• Proactive mindset with ability to improve processes.

Responsibilities

• Own critical incidents, identify root causes, and lead post-mortem reviews.
• Ensure seamless operation of distributed, multi-server trading systems.
• Be the go-to expert for traders with hands-on trade floor support.
• Oversee UAT coordination and production releases for stability.
• Collaborate with Operations and Development to resolve issues.
• Design and implement robust monitoring and logging solutions.
• Automate workflows and develop scripts for operational excellence.
• Drive continuous improvements and propose better tools.
• Occasionally provide after-hours support and mentor juniors.

We are looking for a passionate and technically talented individual to work in a fast-paced environment whilst putting their talents to work in a broad technical role. The successful candidate will be part of our global Infrastructure and Technology Service team and based in Hong Kong. You will be responsible for the upkeep of our trading IT systems, supporting the end to end trading application and providing direct trading application support to the trading teams.

The level of seniority for this role (e.g., mid-senior level) will be commensurate with the relevant experience and qualifications of the candidate.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Own critical incidents by identifying root causes, mitigating impact, and leading post-mortem reviews to prevent recurrence.
• Ensure the seamless operation of distributed, multi-server trading systems.
• Be the go-to expert for traders by providing hands-on trade floor support and direct application assistance.
• Oversee UAT coordination and production software releases to maintain stability and performance.
• Collaborate with Operations and Development teams to troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues.
• Design and implement robust monitoring and logging solutions, enhancing system reliability and visibility.
• Automate and optimize workflows, developing scripts and tools to drive operational excellence.
• Drive continuous improvement by proactively identifying gaps and suggesting better processes or tools.
• Engage in occasional after-hours support and testing as required to ensure smooth operations.
• Mentor and guide junior team members

What You Offer

• A degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
• At least 8 years of experience in a trading support or similar technical role.
• Proficiency with Linux environments and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Perl, or PHP).
• A proven track record of driving change and delivering results in a collaborative environment.
• Exceptional communication skills in English (both written and verbal), with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced trading environment.
• A passion for building quick, maintainable script solutions that are practical and scalable
• A proactive mindset with the ability to identify areas for improvement while understanding existing constraints and limitations.
