Job summary

Solactive AG in Hong Kong seeks a seasoned professional to manage thematic equity indices and client relationships across Asia. You will oversee ongoing index development, rebalance cycles and data-driven decision processes in a fast-paced, global environment.

The role requires 4–7 years in equity markets, a finance/engineering background, strong Python skills, and excellent communication abilities to interact with top-tier banks, asset managers and trading desks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level degree in Finance, Financial Engineering, Financial Mathematics or Engineering.
• Experience in managing and fostering client relationships in Asia-Pacific regions.
• 4–7 years in equity markets execution, portfolio/index management or related process-driven environment.
• Familiarity with thematic investing concepts and related benchmarks/strategies.
• Analytical, innovative thinker with hands-on problem solving and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and client relationship skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Highly organized, able to manage multiple cycles and deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
• Team-oriented with intercultural competence.
• Proficiency in Python; VBA, MATLAB or SQL are assets; English fluency; other languages are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee a portfolio of thematic equity indices and ensure accuracy, stability and timely delivery across rebalancing cycles.
• Execute systematic, rules-based selection and rebalancing for Solactive and client indices.
• Research thematic investment trends and apply quantitative rules for index selection and weighting.
• Serve as a primary contact for international clients, translating complex concepts into actionable insights.
• Enhance and maintain index algorithms within the company framework.
• Identify and implement process improvements to boost efficiency and accuracy in index operations.
• Collaborate with data engineers, business analysts and developers throughout the lifecycle of software projects.
