Job summary

NetEase, Inc. seeks a mid-level Group Privacy Legal Counsel to manage global privacy compliance, mitigate data risks, and support privacy-by-design initiatives across the group.

The role reports to the Head of Privacy & Data Protection within the Group International Legal department and collaborates with cross-functional teams worldwide. Ideal candidates have 4–8 years of privacy and data protection experience, with qualifications as a lawyer in the US, Hong Kong, the UK or Canada, and fluency

Qualifications

• 4 to 8 years of legal practice focused on privacy and data protection, cybersecurity and emerging technologies.
• Experience with cross-border data transfers and DPIAs.
• Familiarity with GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, EU AI Act, DSA and related regulations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and update global privacy policies, notices, and internal frameworks for the NetEase group.
• Provide product counseling to integrate privacy-by-design into lifecycles.
• Assess data risks, conduct DPIAs, and manage cross-border transfers.
