Qualifications

• At least eight years' banking experience in Global Markets, with strong Equity Derivatives knowledge.
• Familiarity with regulatory reporting and Hong Kong trade requirements is a plus.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
• Fluency in English and Chinese; Putonghua an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Support Team Head in delivering operational coverage for Global Markets, focusing on Equity Derivatives.
• Oversee trade validation, confirmations, lifecycle events and payments.
• Maintain procedures aligned to internal guidelines and regulatory requirements.
• Contribute to systems implementation, workflow design and process re-engineering.
• Participate in development, testing and rollout of new products and system upgrades.

Global Markets Operations Manager (Equity Derivatives) - 12 month Contract

Salary: Up to $55,000 HKD

Our client, a leading international financial institution, is looking for an experienced Operations Manager to join its Global Markets Operations function. The team owns the post-execution trade lifecycle, covering settlement, risk and control, regulatory compliance and a seamless service experience for clients.

This is an excellent opportunity for a driven operations professional with Equity Derivatives exposure to take on a broad, high-visibility role that blends daily operational leadership with project and change work.

The role

• Support the Team Head in delivering operational coverage for the Global Markets business, with a core focus on Equity Derivatives, including trade validation, confirmations, life cycle events and payments
• Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring all activity meets internal standards and regulatory requirements
• Put in place and maintain operating procedures aligned to internal guidelines and applicable regulation
• Contribute to systems implementation, workflow design and process re-engineering initiatives
• Take part in the development, testing and rollout of new investment product launches and system enhancements
• Partner closely with business users, technology, legal and compliance colleagues to keep operations running effectively

About you

• Degree in a relevant discipline, or equivalent professional qualifications
• At least eight years' banking experience, ideally within Global Markets products, with strong knowledge of Equity Derivatives (exposure to other products is a plus)
• Familiarity with Hong Kong trade repository and related regulatory reporting requirements is an advantage
• Excellent attention to detail, with the self-motivation to work independently and perform well under pressure
• Strong command of English and Chinese; fluency in Putonghua is an advantage
• A real sense of ownership and a can-do attitude
