HKEX's Derivative Trading Operations team manages its premier futures and options markets with global reach. The role leads operations, develops rules for derivatives trading, monitors the trading system, and drives strategy execution and project implementation.

Candidates should have 12+ years in financial markets with leadership experience and strong English and Chinese communication. This is a demanding, high‑impact role at HKEX in Hong Kong.

Qualifications

• University degree in Finance, Economics or related disciplines.
• Strong understanding of derivatives products, market practices and regulatory requirements.
• Experience in derivatives market operations and regulations.

Responsabilités

• Ensure smooth trading operations of the derivatives market (Work hours 2pm-11pm) by managing operational risks.
• Ensure trading activities comply with regulations, rules and procedures.
• Provide excellent customer service to Exchange Participants and maintain relationships with stakeholders.
• Communicate precisely with Exchange Participants as the command centre for the Derivatives Market.
• Plan, coordinate and execute projects including system enhancements and policy reviews.
• Streamline workflows, identify risks and implement mitigation plans.
• Develop and review operating procedures and contingency plans.
• Stay updated on international trends in derivatives market development.

Job Duties

Responsibilities

• Ensure smooth trading operations of the derivatives market (Work hours 2pm-11pm) by managing operational risks, providing services to Exchange Participants, and dealing with exceptional cases and contingency situations;
• Ensure the trading activities are in compliance with the relevant regulations, rules and operational procedures;
• Ensure excellent customer service in the context of Exchange Trading operations and maintain rapport relations with the various functions of Exchange Participants;
• Ensure precise communication with Exchange Participants and external stakeholders as the command centre for the Derivatives Market;
• Plan, coordinate and execute projects, including system enhancements, market microstructure improvement, implementation of new products and review of rules, policies and procedures;
• Streamline and automate workflows, identify potential risks and implement mitigation plans;
• Develop and review operating procedures and contingency plans;
• Keep abreast of the latest international trends in derivatives market development.

Requirements

• University Degree, preferably in Finance, Economics or related disciplines;
• Good understanding of the derivatives products, market practices and the trading platform;
• Sound knowledge of the derivatives market operations and regulations;
• At least 12 years' relevant experience, of which at least 5 years at the management level of well-established financial organizations. High-calibre candidates with less experience will also be considered;
• Good communication and problem solving skills;
• Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese, proficiency in Putonghua an advantage;
• Proficient with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint, knowledge in Power BI, SQL and VBA an advantage
• Shift duties are required, and work experience with shift duties is an added advantage
