Job summary

Puffy, a market-leading, nine-figure D2C brand, seeks a General Counsel to own the in‑house legal function across consumer-facing compliance, fund documentation and cross‑border structuring. You will report directly to the CEO and build an audit cadence, risk controls, and external counsel relationships.

This remote role offers global reach and AI-first workflows. Ideal candidates have a JD, 5–10 years of practice, and proven ability to operate as the sole legal resource across multiple

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school; barred in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• 5–10 years of legal experience, ideally a mix of law firm and in‑house roles.
• AI fluency: actively uses AI tools for legal research, drafting, and risk identification.
• Experience managing multiple outside counsel relationships.

Responsibilities

• Own the in‑house legal function across three workstreams with full authority.
• Build the Monthly Legal Exposure Audit and quarterly compliance sweeps.
• Negotiate hedge fund subscriptions, side letters, and LP terms.
• Surface five material legal risks within 90 days and shape the legal function.
