Global Finance Director – E‑commerce Growth & Strategy

Job summary

Ambition is seeking a commercially minded Finance Director to lead finance operations across Hong Kong, Europe, the UK and the US, partnering directly with the founders to shape the group’s financial framework.

This entrepreneurial role requires building processes from the ground up, managing treasury, tax, and reporting, and guiding strategic decisions to support rapid international growth. Fluency in English is required; Cantonese not essential.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Accounting, Finance or related discipline.
• Qualified Accountant (CPA, HKICPA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent).
• Minimum 10 years' progressive finance experience, including leadership responsibilities.
• Prior experience within e-commerce, consumer products, retail or other high-growth environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the full spectrum of finance activities across Hong Kong, Europe, the UK and the US.
• Act as a strategic business partner to the founders, providing commercial insights and financial guidance to support rapid international growth.
• Own monthly management reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow planning and business performance analysis.
• Manage group treasury activities, including cash flow management, liquidity planning, banking relationships and FX exposure.
• Develop effective working capital strategies to optimize cash utilisation, inventory levels and overall business performance.
• Oversee banking operations across multiple jurisdictions and ensure efficient payment and collection processes.
• Drive ERP implementation and finance system enhancements to support growth and scalability.
• Ensure robust financial controls, governance frameworks and compliance across the group.
• Lead all tax-related matters across multiple jurisdictions, including corporate tax, indirect tax, VAT, sales tax and transfer pricing where applicable.
• Partner with external tax advisors to ensure compliance with local tax regulations across Europe, the UK, Hong Kong and the US.
• Monitor and manage international tax risks while identifying opportunities for efficiency.
• Oversee statutory reporting, audits, regulatory filings and compliance across all entities.
• Work with operations, supply chain and commercial teams to align inventory, sales and profitability with business objectives.
• Manage relationships with external accountants, auditors, tax advisors, banks and other financial service providers.
• Build, mentor and develop the finance function as the business expands globally.
