Job summary

Aurecon in Hong Kong is looking for an experienced engineer to join their Infrastructure business, specializing in geotechnical and foundation design for various infrastructure projects. You'll collaborate with teams to create detailed designs and documentation, prepare specifications, and conduct site inspections. The ideal candidate should have at least 3 years of experience and a relevant engineering qualification. Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of professional experience in engineering consulting specialising in geotechnical engineering.
• Recognised civil engineering qualification.
• Proven technical proficiency in geotechnical and foundation design and analysis.
• Sound understanding of local practices and commonly used geotechnical analysis software.

Job description

What will you do?

In this position you will join our Infrastructure business and be part of a team of specialists who bring ideas to life for clients across all types of infrastructure projects, from rural access roads to complex freeways, toll roads, system interchanges and water security initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Use your knowledge of Hong Kong standards and codes to prepare concept design reports and detailed design specifications.
• Complete analysis and design of ELS and foundation.
• Prepare submission procedures and design standards in Hong Kong.
• Communicate effectively with internal teams and external consultants to produce coordinated designs.
• Prepare calculations required for the design of engineering projects.
• Perform planning studies, conceptual and detailed design of geotechnical projects.
• Produce detailed designs and documentation for the implementation of medium‑to‑large‑sized engineering projects.
• Prepare specifications, proposals and other tender documentation.
• Undertake site inspections and provide associated reporting, and liaise with clients, sub‑consultants and contractors.

What can you bring to the team?

• Minimum 3 years of professional experience in engineering consulting specialising in geotechnical engineering (without required experience, an Assistant Engineer role may be considered).
• Recognised civil engineering qualification (Bachelor or Master).
• Proven technical proficiency in geotechnical and foundation design and analysis on infrastructure and underground construction projects.
• Sound understanding and application of local practices and commonly used geotechnical analysis software including FREW, PLAXIS 2D, SEEP/W, SAFE and SLOPE/W.
• Ability to understand ground conditions and model them in all their complexity, and knowledge of construction sequencing of underground projects.
