Job summary

Joy Studios in Hong Kong is seeking a Senior Full-stack Back-office Tools Engineer to own and build the B2B back-office platform powering partner operations. You will design, develop, and maintain dashboards, admin panels, and reporting systems used daily by partners and internal teams.

Reporting to the CTO, you will shape the product from the ground up, mentor junior engineers, and drive API design, data workflows, and LLМ-augmented processes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience building full-stack web applications with data-heavy dashboards.
• Proficient in Vue/React and TypeScript for front-end.
• Strong back-end experience with TypeScript/Node.js; C# or Python a plus.

We are looking for a Senior Full-stack Back-office Tools Engineer to own and build the B2B back-office platform that powers our partner operations. Reporting directly to the CTO, you will design, develop, and maintain the dashboards, admin panels, and reporting systems that our partners and internal teams rely on daily. This is a high-ownership role where you will shape the product from the ground up and influence how the team scales around it.

You will be the go-to engineer for everything back-office: from game performance reporting and audit trails to fraud analysis tooling and partner-facing game configuration interfaces.

Key Responsibilities

• Back-office Platform Ownership: Design, build, and maintain the full-stack B2B back-office platform, including partner dashboards, admin panels, and internal tools.
• Game Performance Reporting: Build reporting systems that give partners and internal teams clear visibility into game metrics, player activity, and revenue performance.
• Audit & Compliance Tooling: Develop audit reporting tools that support regulatory requirements and external compliance reviews.
• Fraud Analysis: Build and maintain fraud analysis and monitoring tools to detect and surface anomalous activity across partner environments.
• Game Configuration & Customization: Create interfaces that allow partners to configure game parameters, promotions, and live-ops settings without engineering involvement.
• API Design & Integration: Design and implement APIs that connect the back-office platform to backend services, data stores, and partner-facing systems.
• AI-Augmented Workflow: Leverage and advocate for modern LLM-augmented development practices to accelerate delivery and improve quality.
• Code Quality: Maintain a high bar for quality through PR reviews, automated testing, and technical documentation.
• Team Growth: As the team grows, participate in hiring and mentor junior engineers, helping to establish engineering standards and shared ownership of quality.
• Product Mindset: Think from the end-user perspective - both partners managing their game portfolio and internal teams needing operational insight.

Skills and Qualifications

• 5+ Years of Experience: Proven track record building full-stack web applications, with experience in data-heavy dashboards, admin tools, or reporting platforms.
• Front-end Proficiency: Strong experience with modern front-end frameworks (Vue, React) and TypeScript.
• Back-end Proficiency: Solid experience building APIs and services in TypeScript/Node.js. Experience with C# or Python is a plus.
• Database & Data: Practical experience with SQL databases (PostgreSQL preferred), query optimization, and working with large datasets for reporting and analytics.
• Architecture: Understanding of RESTful API design, state management, and modular software patterns.
• Tooling: Proficiency with modern build tools (Vite, Webpack, etc.) and version control (Git).
• Experience with modern LLM-augmented workflows.
• Degree in sciences/CS/engineering preferred but not required. We look for experience and passion.

Bonus Points

• Experience building multi-tenant SaaS platforms or B2B tooling.
• Experience with data visualization libraries (e.g., D3.js, Chart.js, ECharts).
• Experience in regulated industries (banking, gaming, iGaming, fintech).
