SCMP Live is seeking an independent Freelance Event Designer to own the visual identity for events across web, social, and on-site production. You will transform concepts into precise, production-ready assets, ensuring visually spectacular experiences across every touchpoint.

The role requires 5+ years in graphic design or related fields, with mastery of Adobe Creative Cloud and a strong sense for typography and spatial balance. Remote work flexibility is offered on a per-project basis.

Formación

• 5+ years of experience in graphic design, print production, ad operations, or publishing.
• Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and strong working knowledge of Google Workspace for collaborative mockups and documentation.
• Deep understanding of color modes (CMYK vs. RGB), image resolutions, and print/digital production standards.
• Knowledge of HTML5 ad animation is necessary.
• Solid grasp of 3D production processes, physical event materials, and lighting applications.
• An exceptional eye for typography, layout alignment, spatial balance, and technical accuracy.
• The ability to thrive under pressure, delivering high-quality work with tight deadlines.

Purpose of the Position:

SCMP Live is seeking an independent, highly skilled Freelance Event Designer to take creative ownership of our events on a project basis. As the sole design lead for your assigned events, you will champion the visual identity from end to end—spanning web, social media, digital displays, and on-the-ground production. You will transform raw concepts and strategic specs into striking, precise, and production-ready assets, ensuring our events are visually spectacular and flawlessly executed across every touchpoint.

In this role, you will:

• Key Visual (KV) Development: Conceptualize and design compelling event key visuals that align with SCMP's premium brand standards and strategic briefs.
• Digital & Web Design: Collaborate closely with the marketing team to adapt the KV into engaging, user-friendly event website artwork and digital assets.
• Social Media Campaigns: Design optimized, platform-specific social media graphics, leveraging a deep understanding of standard and Chinese social platform requirements.
• On-Site Event Production: Create high-quality artwork for physical event collateral, including step-and-repeat backdrops, stage designs, and potential 3D activations. Knowledge of fabrication materials and lighting effects is highly valued.
• Immersive Digital Displays: Produce all RGB event creatives, ensuring pixel-perfect execution for LED walls, digital signboards, and live-streaming broadcast graphics.
• Print & Layout Formatting: Produce, adjust, and finalize layouts for newspaper ads, print collateral, and event brochures, strictly adhering to grid systems and publisher specifications.
• Agile Execution: Efficiently manage a high volume of daily design requests, meeting tight turnaround times with a zero-tolerance approach to formatting errors.

Skills and Experience that will lead to success:

• 5+ years of experience in graphic design, print production, ad operations, or publishing. Prior experience in event branding or physical production design is a strong advantage.
• Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and strong working knowledge of Google Workspace (Docs, Slides) for collaborative mockups and documentation.
• Deep understanding of color modes (CMYK vs. RGB), image resolutions, and print/digital production standards. Knowledge of HTML5 ad animation is necessary.
• Solid grasp of 3D production processes, physical event materials, and lighting applications.
• An exceptional eye for typography, layout alignment, spatial balance, and technical accuracy.
• The ability to thrive under pressure, successfully delivering high-quality work against tight, non-negotiable event deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills and a team-first mindset to partner smoothly with marketing, production, and editorial teams.
