Zusammenfassung

Arrowpoint Investment Partners seeks a Forward Deployed Engineer to embed with portfolio managers, traders and risk teams in Hong Kong, delivering AI, data and automation solutions that move from prototype to production.

You will collaborate with Product and Technology to build reusable components, assess new AI models, ensure data governance and security, and help teams adopt solutions across front, middle and back office.

Qualifikationen

• Minimum of 3 years of professional Python development experience.
• Experience with Django is strongly preferred.
• Strong SQL and solid data-handling fundamentals.
• Experience deploying and managing applications on AWS using Terraform and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience handling sensitive data with RBAC and group-based access controls.
• Hands-on experience building with LLMs and evaluating model output for accuracy.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools and keeping AI-generated code stable and scalable.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills to work with portfolio managers and control teams.

Forward Deployed Engineers sit within Technology and work directly with business teams on focused assignments to understand how they work and build AI, data and automation solutions that remove manual effort. Once a solution is in production and adopted, you move on to the next priority project. Success is measured by the impact your work has on the people using it.

About You

• Curious about how a hedge fund operates, from how a trade is booked and priced to how risk and control teams do their work, and quick to pick up new domain knowledge
• Motivated by solving real problems for the people doing the work, and stays involved after launch to make sure solutions are adopted
• Follows AI developments closely, uses AI tools day to day, and can explain why a particular model or tool is right for a task
• Considers data sensitivity, access controls, auditability and potential model failures from the outset, and sees these safeguards as enablers of safe innovation

Key Responsibilities

• Embed with business teams (portfolio managers, traders, operations, risk, investor relations and control functions) for a defined period, typically 6 to 12 weeks, to understand workflows, data and pain points, working alongside Product to shape solutions
• Deliver solutions from prototype through production build and rollout, then rotate to the next priority project
• Build AI-powered tools, agents, integrations and data pipelines on the firm’s shared platforms, rather than standing up one-off infrastructure
• Turn working solutions into reusable components and patterns, including contributing to shared platform components where Technology needs it
• Evaluate new AI models and tools, and recommend which to adopt
• Train and support users through adoption, and feed learnings back to Technology and Product
• Work with Product, which owns scoping and prioritisation, to turn defined requirements into shippable solutions
• Work across areas including trade operations, valuations, risk, investor relations and business development, and compliance and legal
• Adhere to the team’s engineering standards, including code review, architecture alignment and the firm’s deployment pipelines
• Build every solution to be supported long term by the team with documentation, tests and monitoring

Key Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of professional Python development experience; Python is the core language of this role.
• Experience with Django is strongly preferred
• Strong SQL and solid data-handling fundamentals
• Experience deploying and managing applications on AWS using Terraform and CI/CD pipelines, with familiarity with services such as ECS and EventBridge
• Experience handling sensitive data and implementing role-based (RBAC) and group-based access controls
• Hands-on experience building with LLMs: agents, retrieval (RAG), tool use or MCP, and evaluating model output for accuracy
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot), with the engineering judgement to keep AI-generated code stable, accurate and scalable
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work directly with portfolio managers, operations teams and control functions

Nice to Have

• Experience with TypeScript and React for building internal tools and user interfaces is a plus; practical, user-friendly delivery matters more than deep front-end expertise
• Experience in a hedge fund, bank, asset manager or fintech, particularly with market data, positions, P&L, risk or valuations data, is a plus
• Prior experience in forward-deployed, solutions engineering, or startup founding/early engineer is a plus
