Hospital Authority - Kowloon Central Cluster is seeking a Foreman (Laundry) for the Hospital Authority Supporting Service Centre in North Lantau Hospital. Ideal candidates have 2 years of laundry healthcare experience or 3 years in HA, and demonstrated leadership ability.

Qualifications

• 2 years’ experience in laundry handling healthcare linen OR 3 years’ satisfactory HA service
• Has shown the potential to lead and supervise staff
• Able to read and write Chinese and simple English
• Completed secondary education
• 2 years’ post-qualification supervisory experience in laundry/textile/healthcare/related services
• Knowledge in the applications of MS Office

Responsibilities

• Supervise various laundry processes including sorting, washing, drying, flatwork ironing, garment finishing, packing, loading and unloading
• Monitor and implement daily laundry operations complying with guidelines including infection control and safety
• Train frontline operators and supervise in-house and contractor staff
• Monitor performance of service providers and coordinate with stakeholders

Pay:

HK$24,170 - HK$30,809 (HGPS point 7 to 11) per month including Monthly Allowance

Up to 15% of total basic salary (after deducting the contribution of Mandatory Provident Fund by Hospital Authority) as end-of-contract gratuity may be offered to contract staff upon completion of the contract subject to satisfactory performance.

Key Responsibilities:

Mainly deployed on taking charge of a section in the laundry as listed below:

• 1. Supervise various laundry processes including sorting and washing, drying, flatwork ironing, garment finishing, packing, loading and unloading.
• 2. Monitor and implement daily laundry operation to comply with relevant guidelines and legislative requirements including inflection control, occupational safety and health in laundry.
• 3. Train the frontline operators.
• 4. Supervise in-house and contractor’s laundry operators.
• 5. Monitor the performance of service providers.
• 6. Maintain effective communication with hospital users and closely coordinate with various stakeholders.

Entry Requirements:

• 1. (a) 2 years’ experience in laundry handling healthcare linen; OR
• (b) 3 years’ satisfactory service in HA
• 2. Have shown the potential to lead and supervise staff
• 3. Able to read and write Chinese and simple English
• OR
• 1. Completed secondary education
• 2. 2 years’ post-qualification supervisory experience in the field of laundry / textile or garment / manufacturing /healthcare industry or other related services / industries
• 3. Have shown the potential to lead and supervise staff
• 1. Knowledge in the applications of MS Office.
• 3. Experience in health care laundry.
• 4. Good supervisory skill with problem-solving ability.
• 5. Responsible, mature, self-motivated and can work independently.
