Asia Insurance is seeking a Financial Analysis and Reporting Manager/Assistant Manager to lead financial analysis, performance insights, and reporting across general insurance lines in Hong Kong. The role collaborates with senior stakeholders and supports regulatory reporting, budgeting, and solvency monitoring.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in insurance finance, solid HKFRS 17 knowledge, and advanced Excel skills.

About the Role

This is a key role offering broad exposure across all business lines in the general insurance sector. The primary focus is on financial analysis and performance insights, while also providing support to financial reporting and regulatory compliance. The successful candidate will work closely with senior stakeholders and contribute to analysis that supports business decision-making.

We are looking for a competent, all-rounded professional who is proficient in insurance accounting and finance, with strong analytical capability and solid technical knowledge in financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare management reports and board-level dashboards that analyse underwriting performance, loss ratios, expense ratios, investment returns and overall profitability by business line
• Perform in-depth financial analysis on equity investments and other investment portfolios
• Conduct variance analysis and provide clear commentary on key financial drivers, emerging trends and performance outliers
• Participate in ad-hoc analytical projects, system enhancement initiatives and continuous process improvement that strengthen management information and decision support
• Support annual budgeting, rolling forecasts, capital planning and solvency position monitoring (including HKRBC capital requirements and liquidity analysis)
• Assist in the HKFRS 17 month-end closing processes, including data validation, reconciliation and identification of data quality issues
• Assist with group consolidation work and coordination with external auditors during interim and year-end audits
• Support the preparation of financial statements, disclosures and supporting schedules
• Contribute to HKRBC Pillar III reporting and other regulatory submissions under HKIO requirements

Requirements

Professional Qualification and Experiences

Bachelor’s degree or above in Professional Accountancy, Finance or a related discipline

Holder of a recognised CPA professional qualification

Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in insurance financial analysis, insurance financial management or insurance auditing

Solid knowledge of HKFRS 17 and HKRBC Pillar III reporting requirements

Strong analytical skills with sound business sense and a thorough understanding of the insurance industry

Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, familiar with accounting systems, insurance core systems and data analytics tools
