Job summary

You will drive end-to-end projects, collaborate with finance, business and IT stakeholders, manage budgets and risks, and report to senior leadership while embedding controls and governance throughout delivery.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related discipline; professional qualifications such as CPA, ACCA, or PMP advantageous.
  • Strong foundation in finance, accounting, auditing; track record leading transformation projects.
  • Big 4 experience preferred; ability to manage complex cross-functional programs.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Our client is a renowned Asia-based conglomerate headquartered in Hong Kong. They are seeking a Finance Transformation Project Director to lead strategic finance transformation initiatives across the APAC region. This role is responsible for driving finance-related projects from inception to execution, ensuring successful delivery of key business objectives, process improvements, and operational excellence.

Our client is a well-established and highly regarded group in Asia, with its regional headquarters based in Hong Kong.

Description

As the Finance Transformation Project Director, you will play a key role in driving strategic finance transformation initiatives across the APAC region. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Lead end-to-end finance transformation projects, ensuring successful delivery and alignment with the organization's strategic objectives.
  • Drive the development and implementation of finance-related initiatives aimed at enhancing operational efficiency, governance, and business performance.
  • Partner closely with finance, business, and technology stakeholders to deliver complex cross-functional projects within agreed timelines and budgets.
  • Oversee project planning, execution, and governance, proactively identifying risks, resolving issues, and implementing mitigation strategies.
  • Provide regular project updates and executive-level reporting to senior management and key stakeholders.
  • Champion process optimization, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives across finance functions.
  • Ensure adherence to internal controls, regulatory requirements, and corporate governance standards throughout all phases of project delivery.
  • Manage project resources, budgets, and external consultants effectively to achieve desired outcomes and maximize value creation.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, providing insights and recommendations on finance transformation, operating models, and organizational change.
  • Drive stakeholder engagement and change management efforts to ensure successful adoption of new processes, systems, and ways of working.
  • Foster collaboration across regional teams and promote best practices to support the organization's long-term growth and transformation agenda.

Profile

A successful candidate should have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline, with professional qualifications such as CPA, ACCA, or PMP being highly advantageous.
  • Strong foundation in finance, accounting, and auditing, with a proven track record of leading finance transformation or strategic finance projects.
  • Prior experience with a Big 4 accounting firm is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in managing complex, cross-functional projects within large-scale or multinational organizations.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking capabilities, with the ability to translate financial insights into actionable business recommendations.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with senior executives and diverse teams across the organization.
  • Proven leadership and project management expertise, with the ability to drive initiatives from planning through execution.
  • Solid understanding of financial controls, governance frameworks, regulatory requirements, and compliance standards.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and articulate complex concepts clearly.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
