Job description

ActusRayPartners (“ARP”) is a dynamic and high-growth asset management company focused on delivering strong absolute and risk-adjusted performance. Founded in 2019 by former Macquarie Group investment professionals, ARP commenced operations in 2021 and today comprises a team of approximately 40 employees. Headquartered in Hong Kong with an additional presence in Sydney, Australia, ARP’s positioning is enhanced by a strategic collaboration with Sun Hung Kai & Co. Limited (86.HK), a Hong Kong-listed financial services company. ARP is licensed by the Securities and Futures Commission of Hong Kong to conduct Type 4 and Type 9 regulated activities, and is a Registered Investment Advisor with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

Recognised by the hedge fund journal as one of “Tomorrow’s Titans” in 2021,ARP has since earned multiple industry awards and nominations for investment performance across all or some of its strategies from 2022 to 2026, as well as a nomination for Management Firm of the Year in 2026. ARP works with a global institutional investor base spanning leading financial institutions (including white-labelled funds and a planned co-labelled fund), foundations, pensions, fund of funds, and family offices.

ARP’s proprietary investment process, Discretionary Probabilistic Investing, focuses on longer-term stock selection alpha by integrating quantitative data models with a highly differentiated discretionary overlay that is applied across a large number of positions. ARP currently deploys its process across Asian and European equity markets focusing on absolute returns, and may expand into the Americas in the future. ARP has also developed long-only versions of its work, including a planned China A-shares vehicle.

Combining institutional rigor and resources while maintaining an entrepreneurial culture, ARP provides team members with the opportunity to collaborate closely with experienced industry leaders, contribute directly to a rapidly growing business, and support the firm’s mission of delivering an elite level of investment performance and client service.

  • Manage cash flow, liquidity, profitability, foreign exchange activities, and capital planning, while developing financing solutions and banking relationships to support growth.
  • Drive financial discipline and cost optimisation initiatives, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, strengthen resilience, and safeguard the Firm's long-term financial position.
  • Oversee regulatory, tax, audit, and governance requirements, ensuring compliance with applicable statutory, regulatory, and reporting obligations across relevant jurisdictions.
  • Manage relationships with auditors, tax advisers, fund administrators, banking partners, and other external service providers.
  • Lead finance transformation initiatives, including process improvement, automation, data analytics, and the adoption of technology to enhance reporting and decision-making.
  • Manage our retained profit share scheme.
  • Provide leadership, vision, and strategic direction for the finance function, acting as a trusted adviser to senior management and contributing to the Firm's broader business strategy.

Qualifications and Experience

  • 8+ years’ finance, accounting, corporate finance, or financial management experience, preferably within asset management, investment management, hedge funds, financial services, or professional services.
  • Qualified accountant, such as CPA, CA, ACCA, ACA, or equivalent.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • Strong experience in financial reporting, management accounts, transfer pricing, budgeting, forecasting, treasury, tax, and internal controls.
  • Experience overseeing payroll, expenses, invoices, payments, and finance operations.
  • Experience managing corporate banking relationships, foreign exchange transactions, cash flow, and liquidity planning.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory, statutory, tax, and financial reporting obligations across relevant jurisdictions.
  • Experience supporting a growing business across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat.
