Job summary

Hong Kong Executive Search is seeking a Facilities Shift Manager for data center operations in Hong Kong. You will oversee critical environments during your shift, coordinate with outsourced teams, and act as the Change Manager to ensure maintenance is scheduled, executed, and documented.

You will manage incidents, deliver reports to senior management, ensure SLA compliance, and maintain safe, compliant facilities.

Qualifications

• Must have relevant professional Electrical and Mechanical Engineering qualification.
• Grade B (Low Voltage) Certification of Registration Electrical Worker (Grade H desirable).
• Health & Safety Qualification (Management level).
• Significant management experience in a 24x7 data center environment.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for all critical environments within the data center during their shift.
• Oversees outsourced teams and specialists responsible for work throughout the data center.
• Acts as Change Manager during their shift; ensures maintenance is scheduled, coordinated, performed, documented, and escalated as needed.
• Acts as Incident Manager during their shift and delivers reports to senior management and customers.
• Take full line control of an incident and the outsourced services team when escalation procedures require.
• Ensure facilities are delivered in accordance with SLAs and quality standards.
• Ensure compliance with all corporate and local policies and statutory requirements.

Position: Facilities Shift Manager, DataCenter

Report to: Facility Manager

Work Location: Hong Kong

Responsibilities

• Responsible for all criticalenvironments within the data center during their shift
• Oversees the outsourced teams andspecialists responsible for work throughout the data center
• Act as the critical environments ChangeManager during their shift, ensuring maintenance is scheduled, coordinated,performed, checked for quality, documented, and escalated as needed, performingthese tasks alongside an outsourced contractor
• Acts as the Incident Manager duringtheir shift and delivers both oral and written reports to senior management andcustomers as required
• Take full line control of an incidentand the outsourced services team when escalation procedures require
• To ensure that facilities are deliveredin accordance with Service Level Agreements and to established qualitystandards
• Responsible for ensuring compliancewith all corporate and local policies and procedures, and ensuring all localstatutory requirements are fulfilled

Requirements

• Relevant ProfessionalElectrical and Mechanical Engineering qualification

• Health & SafetyQualification (Management of Health & Safety level)
• Significant managementexperience in a production, mission-critical, revenue-dependent, 24x7 data centerenvironment (management experience of E and M team preferred)
• Demonstrable customerfacing experience which combines both commercial and engineering aspects
• Experienced at directlymanaging a team (with circa 4 years’ experience)
• Experience in theselection, appointment, co-ordination, and relationship management of externalcontractors
• Experience in directlymanaging operations budgets
• Experience working with electricalsystems, power distribution units (PDUs), power management modules (PMMs), andstatic switches
• Experience working with earlydetection, Fire suppression and alarm systems
• Significant experiencewith generator and power production plants
