Job summary

KPMG China is seeking final-year university students for an ESG Audit internship. You will analyze ESG trends and regulations, help develop strategies and frameworks for clients, and assist with reports, presentations, and client meetings.

The role focuses on sustainability practices, climate risk, and GHG accounting for banking clients, within a collaborative team in Hong Kong. Ideal candidates will have strong analytical and communication skills, teamwork, and a passion for ESG issues.

Qualifications

• Final year university students with a bachelor’s degree or above from any discipline, ideally Environmental Studies, Business, Finance, or related field.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong teamwork ability together with ability to work independently.
• Passion for sustainability and ESG issues; familiarity with green/sustainable finance is a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with data analysis tools is a plus.
• Permanent resident or right of abode in the location you are applying for.

Responsibilities

• Engage in the analysis of ESG trends, regulations, and best practices.
• Help develop ESG strategies and frameworks for clients (focus on financial institutions’ net-zero transition plans).
• Organize preparation of reports, presentations, and proposals for clients.
• Support client meetings, take notes and summarize key points.
• Assist managers on ongoing client engagements and initiatives (e.g., rounds on banking sectors, climate risk assessment, GHG accounting).
