Position Overview

We are looking for an investment professional with strong analytical skills and a passion for equity markets to join our Equity Portfolio Management team. This team manages investments in Chinese equities, including China‑focused strategies as well as broader Emerging Markets strategies. The team’s investment philosophy is based on investing over the long term in high‑quality companies with strong organic growth and good governance standards that are under‑appreciated by the market. This analyst will focus on identifying quality businesses across the greater China equity markets using a fundamentally driven and deeply analytical approach. Fluency in Mandarin (written and spoken) and demonstrated experience researching and investing in Chinese companies is essential.

Responsibilities

• Invest in Chinese equities, including China‑focused strategies and broader Emerging Markets strategies.
• Identify quality businesses across the greater China equity markets using a fundamentally driven and deeply analytical approach.
• Understand the China equity market structure; identify mispricing and valuation discrepancies.
• Make investment recommendations and communicate findings to China Equity portfolio management teams as well as emerging markets and global equity PMs.
• Adopt a fundamental, research‑oriented, bottom‑up approach while incorporating top‑down perspectives such as sector and macro views.
• Consider ideas within the context of overall portfolio philosophy and process.
• Collaborate within a highly collaborative team, contribute to idea generation, potential portfolio construction and risk management.
• Build strong trusting relationships internally and externally; take risk and challenge investment views, communicate action‑oriented opinions clearly and contribute to open investment dialogue.
• Maintain a growth mindset, openness to learning, evolving and innovating in Chinese and global capital markets.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6‑8 years of relevant experience in an investment analyst role with a demonstrated track record of success.
• Extensive experience in Chinese equities and/or Asian equities with a strong track record of impactful research and generating alpha.
• Fluent written and spoken business Mandarin.
• Philosophical alignment with the team’s approach.
• Ability to approach research from both top‑down and bottom‑up perspectives.
• Independence of thought, curiosity and self‑confidence to embrace being wrong and learning from others.
• Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
