Job summary

Ele Bank Limited in Hong Kong is seeking a derivative trading associate to support the launch and operation of equity options on our trading app, bridging product, engineering and compliance. You will help with order entry, market data and margin monitoring while contributing to multi-leg strategies and post-launch iteration.

Ideal candidates are pursuing advanced studies in finance or related fields, with a strong interest in equity options trading and knowledge of margin rules.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or above in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Financial Engineering or a related discipline.
• Strong interest in equity options trading and understanding of calls, puts, spreads, Greeks.
• Solid understanding of margin rules and how margins interact with options positions.
• Familiar with HKEX/CBOE operation concepts; no prior exchange work required.
• Previous internship or project work related to options or derivatives.
• HKSI Paper 1 (Type 1 – Dealing in Securities) registration within 6 months of joining.
• Proactive learner capable of cross-team collaboration across product, engineering, compliance, operations.
• Strong communication in Chinese and English; Cantonese a plus.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a key contact with group brokers, exchanges and clearing houses; support opening derivatives channels and negotiate commercial agreements.
• Partner with Product & Engineering to support launch and improvement of options trading on App—from order entry, market data, positions to margin monitoring and multi-leg strategies; contribute to requirements docs, UAT and post-launch iteration.
• Assist in operationalising the tiered client onboarding framework for derivatives: knowledge assessments, risk questionnaires and experience declarations.
• Support relationship-manager and customer service with product training and enablement materials for live products.
• Contribute to building and monitoring derivatives operations dashboard: active clients, retention and AUM.
• Apply SFC Code of Conduct provisions on complex-product suitability; support audits and regulatory filings under guidance.
