Hawksman Technology in Hong Kong seeks an Engineering Manager to lead the development of its mission-critical matching engine platform. This leadership role focuses on shaping technical strategy, architectural decisions, and building a high-performing team of engineers.

You will manage a team of about 20 engineers in a fast-paced, low-latency trading environment, partnering with senior stakeholders and ensuring reliability, scalability and continuous delivery of production systems.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading software engineering teams within low-latency trading or high-performance distributed systems.
• Deep technical background in Java and modern distributed systems, with ability to provide architectural guidance.
• Strong mentorship and development of technical talent within teams.
• Effective stakeholder management across engineering leadership and business functions.
• Experience in fast-moving trading environments with focus on reliability and performance.
• Mandarin language skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of ~20 software engineers for the core matching engine platform.
• Drive technical strategy, system design, and architectural decisions for a low-latency trading platform.
• Partner with senior leadership to align technical priorities with business objectives.
• Foster engineering excellence through delivery processes, mentoring, and leadership.
