Job summary

CLP Power Hong Kong is seeking a high-calibre engineering professional to join the Power Systems Business Group – Technical Services Department, Electrical Services & Workshop Branch. The role leads a team responsible for maintenance, testing and life cycle management of high voltage electrical systems and equipment, ensuring on-time project commissioning and adherence to safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

  • A recognized university degree in Electrical/ Electronic/ Computer Engineering, Computer Science related disciplines.
  • At least 3 years’ relevant experience in installation, operation, maintenance, testing and development of high voltage power apparatus, workshop activities, condition monitoring and data analytics
  • Proficient in PC applications; knowledge in advanced computer programming, system operation, cyber security and data analytics technology are an advantage
  • Good understanding of Health, Safety, Security, Environment and Quality management systems
  • Proven interpersonal, communication and team-building skills
  • Proficient in both spoken and written English and Chinese
  • Possession of a valid driving license is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise a team of technical staff in the maintenance, repair, testing, condition assessment, calibration and life cycle management of the electrical systems and equipment for condition monitoring, power transformer, switchgear, battery, charger, auxiliary equipment and electrical testing instrument.
  • Ensure all electrical workshop projects are commissioned on time, and to the required standard by proper projects procurement process, planning and scheduling, co-ordination, progress monitoring and supervise the equipment installation, testing and commissioning activities
  • Perform feasibility study and design; integrate and develop new systems by applying profitable technology to meet the Company’s business needs
  • Support planning and control of new testing and diagnosis equipment, so that they are procured timely to meet project requirements, and engineered to the required standards by preparing, directing and controlling the specification, tendering, evaluation, recommendation and contracts management activities in bulk purchase contracts
  • Direct and perform operation and management of instrument laboratory and workshop and develop new automation management and data analytics technology to meet the Company’s business needs
  • Ensure adequate and justifiable budgets are prepared for the activities of the Branch and for all high voltage testing and electrical workshop project installations; control the expenditures
  • Review documents to ensure compliance with procedures and cost control principles, including but not limited to safety documents
  • Liaise and co-ordinate with various departments of project work and to plan, schedule, set-up proper procedures and precautions to meet the Company’s requirements and Safety Rules
  • Perform duties under adverse weather condition, outside normal office hours, and carry out other emergency works, assigned by supervisor as and when required

Power Systems Business Group – Technical Services Department, Electrical Services & Workshop Branch is looking for high calibre engineering professional to join the team and provides high voltage engineering and workshop services to the Company’s power systems. Reporting to the Senior Engineers, the successful incumbent will be responsible for the following major duties:-

Requirements
