Job summary

Intertek Greater China is seeking a test engineer to perform IEC/EN 60335 testing on household appliances and electronics, ensuring compliance and quality.

The role involves safeguarding product quality, preparing detailed test reports, and providing technical support to customers within a five-day work week framework. Excellent English and Mandarin communication are required, with good career prospects and benefits.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical/ Electronic/ Mechanical/ Applied Physics with relevant certification preferred.
• 3–5 years’ experience in manufacturing or testing is preferred, with hands-on IEC/EN 60335 testing.
• Knowledge of product design, BOM, compliance, component specifications and FMEA is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills and fluent English and Mandarin.
• Candidates with less experience may be considered as Assistant Engineer.

The Job

• Perform tests and/or constructional evaluation for various electrical/electronic consumer products according to national / international standards and requirements, with a primary focus on IEC/EN 60335 for household appliances.
• Safeguard quality on products such as home appliances, home entertainment electronics, power supply, telecommunications & lighting devices, etc.
• Prepare comprehensive test reports and relevant technical documentation based on laboratory findings and IEC/EN 60335 clauses.
• Provide technical support to internal and external customers.
• Review reports and technical documents (on-the-job training will be provided according to candidate’s experience).

The Person

• Degree in Electrical / Electronic / Mechanical / Applied Physics or any relevant/equivalent level.
• 3–5 years’ relevant experience in manufacturing or testing is preferred. Must have hands-on experience in IEC/EN 60335 testing and evaluation.
• Knowledge in product design and experience in BOM, product compliance, component specifications and FMEA is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills and good command of English and Mandarin.
• Conscientious with an analytical mind, proactive and committed to a test engineering career.
• Candidates with less experience will be considered as Assistant Engineer.
