Emerging Facade Design Engineer

Job summary

Inhabit is a specialist consultancy in Hong Kong focused on design and advancement of the built environment. We seek a design engineer to carry out facade design engineering with material knowledge, aligned to local codes, and to deliver robust facade solutions.

You will perform detailed calculations, review drawings, prepare tender submissions, and collaborate with senior engineers while working independently to balance the group’s workload and explore interdisciplinary collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Civil/Structures).
• Facade design engineering experience in a facade consultancy or contractor.
• Experience in facade system design and reviewing drawings.
• 2+ years’ experience with a facade contractor or consultancy.
• Familiar with local facade codes and standards.
• Proficiency with facade/structural FEM software (e.g., Strand7, SAP2000).
• Experience producing and reviewing calculations for facade elements.
• Strong problem solving and organizational skills.
• Proactive, initiative, focused and committed.
• Able to work independently with some supervision.
• MS Office proficiency.
• Fresh graduates welcome with good academic records.

Responsibilities

• Carry out design engineering for facade and build-ability consultancy, including material knowledge.
• Perform detailed engineering computations and structural facade analysis.
• Accountable for all facade documentation including calculations, drawings, and specifications.
• Review contractor submissions; shop drawings and calculations.
• Assist in preparing tender submissions.
• Communicate with design team as well as work autonomously.
• Work closely with senior engineers and support other engineers; values collaboration and balance with the group.
