Job summary

Hong Kong Sports Institute Ltd. seeks a seasoned Head Tennis Coach to lead elite tennis training, cooperate with the HKCTA, and manage coaching and administrative staff within the annual budget.

The role emphasizes strategic planning, talent development, and strong engagement with international tennis bodies. You will oversee facilities, integrate sports science and medical support, contribute to coach education, and represent the institute in media and public communications.

Qualifications

• University degree or equivalent.
• Coaching certificate issued by relevant governing body.
• Over 10 years’ proven experience in coaching Tennis at international level.
• Substantial experience in leading programme planning and administration in Tennis.
• Knowledge in sports science and sports medicine and be able to bring their benefits to the coaching process.
• Excellent interpersonal/ analytical/ evaluation/ planning skills.
• High level of computer literacy.
• Strong links with international Tennis bodies.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Awareness/ knowledge of Child Protection in sport and equal opportunity issue in the context of Hong Kong are an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Oversee planning, design, implementation, and evaluation of the Tennis elite training programme.
• Lead regular strategic reporting to the HKCTA and maintain positive collaboration.
• Lead the Tennis Department within the annual budget.
• Ensure integrated use of sports science, medical and support services for athletes.
• Create systematic opportunities for talent to emerge.
• Support coach education programme development for local coaches.
• Provide professional oversight of HKSI Tennis facilities.
• Contribute to media publications as requested.
• Enhance the professional image of the HKSI.
