Job summary

Water Supplies Department invites applications for a Technical Officer Trainee (Electrical). The role involves a three-year training period with duties including preparing electrical drawings, sketches, and record drawings, plus basic engineering calculations and occasional site measurements.

Successful candidates will work with CAD systems and related tools. Appointment is on civil service terms, with probation for three years.

Qualifications

• Must hold a recognized Certificate in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Academic qualifications may be substituted by HKDSEE/HKCEE results as detailed in Note 1-5.
• Must meet language proficiency requirements in Chinese and English (Level 2+).
• A pass result in the BLNST is an entry requirement for civil service jobs.

Responsibilities

• Undergo three-year trainee program as a Technical Officer (Electrical).
• Prepare electrical engineering drawings, sketches and record drawings.
• Carry out simple engineering calculations and occasional site measurements.
• Work with computer-aided drafting systems and related software.

Education

Certificate in Electrical Engineering (Hong Kong polytechnic/polytechnic university or HK Institute of Vocational Education/technical institute/technical college)

HKDSEE advanced Mathematics or HKCEE Mathematics with four other subjects including Physics/Combined Science/Integrated Science

Language proficiency: Chinese and English (Level 2 or above in HKDSEE/HKCEE)

BLNST pass (Basic Law and National Security Law Test)
