Job summary

English Schools Foundation (ESF) Island School seeks a skilled Educational Assistant to join our Individual Learning Needs team. EAs support learning across subjects, assist with IEPs, and help students access the curriculum in mainstream and special settings.

The role emphasizes English proficiency, collaboration with teachers, and a patient, flexible approach to support diverse learners with conditions such as Dyslexia, ADHD, and ASD. Applications encouraged for committed individuals.

Qualifications

• Native-level English proficiency to support students' academic writing and literacy.
• Strong numeracy skills to assist in mainstream classes.
• Proficiency in ICT to develop learning resources and displays.
• Prior experience in an educational setting preferred.
• Ability to support students withDyslexia, ADHD, ASD and executive functioning challenges.
• Capability to facilitate individual, small-group and whole-class activities under teachers' guidance.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the educational and social development of pupils.
• Assist in planning and monitoring Individual Education Programmes.
• Support students across all subjects and PE including swimming and field sports.
• Assist in accessing curriculum and maintain student records.
• Support behaviour management and develop social skills.
• Provide support for students in and outside the classroom, including trips and activities.
