Job summary

Lane Crawford (Hong Kong) Limited is seeking a Project and Design Draftperson to transform design concepts, store layouts, and architectural sketches into precise 2D drawings and 3D renderings for retail spaces.

You will work with Store Planning and external contractors to ensure shopfittings meet brand standards and site specifications, with a strong emphasis on AutoCAD drafting and detail-oriented collaboration in a luxury retail environment.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Certificate in Drafting, Interior Design, Architecture, or related discipline.
• 2–4 years of drafting experience, preferably in retail store planning or shopfitting.
• Proficient in AutoCAD (2D mandatory) and 3D tools (SketchUp, Enscape, Photoshop, Illustrator).
• Knowledge of landlord site submission and HK building regulations is an advantage.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in dimensions and scale.
• Good Cantonese and English communication.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed 2D drawings, shop drawings, layout plans, elevations, sections, and joinery details using AutoCAD.
• Create 3D renderings and visualizations for store layout proposals using SketchUp, V-Ray, Enscape.
• Coordinate with Store Planning, Interior Design, and external vendors to clarify specifications and resolve discrepancies.
• Review site measurements, MEP specs, and safety/building code requirements for accuracy.
• Maintain store drawing archive, fixture catalogs, and material libraries.

Job description

Lane Crawford is an internationally renowned luxury department store with over 175 years of success, delivering an exceptional and eclectic product curation with dynamic Asian spirit and values. As our Project and Design Draftperson, you will be translating design concepts, store layouts, and architectural sketches into precise 2D technical construction drawings (AutoCAD) and 3D renderings for retail stores, concessions, and pop-up spaces. You will work closely with store planners, project managers and external contractors to ensure all shopfittings and fixtures comply with brand standards and site specifications.

The Role

Technical Drawing & Detailing:

Prepare detailed 2D technical drawings, shop drawings, layout plans, elevations, sections, and joinery details using AutoCAD.

Create 3D renderings and spatial visualizations for store layout proposals and senior management review using SketchUp / V-Ray/ Enscape

Project Coordination & Execution:

Work closely with the Store Planning / Interior Design team to understand spatial requirements, aesthetic guidelines, and brand identity.

Review site measurements, structural constraints, and MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) specs to ensure drawing accuracy.

Coordinate with external vendors, contractors, and millwork suppliers to clarify technical specifications and resolve design/construction discrepancies during production.

Documentation & Standards:

Maintain and update the store drawing archive, fixture catalogs, and material sample libraries.

Ensure all drawings adhere to safety regulations, building codes, and landlord fitting-out guidelines.

The Ideal Candidate

Education & Experience:

Diploma or Certificate in Drafting, Interior Design, Architecture, or a related discipline.

Minimum 2–4 years of relevant drafting experience, preferably in retail store planning, luxury retail, commercial interiors, or shopfitting.

Technical Skills:

Proficient in AutoCAD (2D drafting is mandatory) and 3D modeling software (SketchUp / Photoshop / Illustrator/ Enscape/ Microsoft Office).

Solid knowledge of retail joinery, fixture detailing, material selection, and construction methods.

Familiarity with landlord site submission processes and Hong Kong building regulations is an advantage.

Soft Skills & Attributes:

Strong attention to detail with high accuracy in dimensions and scale.

Good communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate across internal teams and external vendors.

Self-motivated, efficient, and able to work independently under tight project timelines.
