Job summary

Johnson Stokes & Master seeks an Associate to handle contentious matters in construction disputes. The role involves advising on large-scale construction disputes, representing employers and contractors in arbitration and litigation, and conducting focused legal research for specific issues.

Candidates should be HK-qualified with 5–6 years of post-qualification experience, strong English skills, and a team-oriented, client-focused approach. Chinese language ability is a plus.

Qualifications

• Hong Kong qualified lawyer with a minimum of 5-6 years' post qualification experience in dispute resolution related to construction
• Excellent level in spoken and written English; Proficiency in Chinese is an advantage, but not a requirement
• A good team player with strong interpersonal skills, commercial acumen and client management skills
• Dynamic, self-motivated and able to work under pressure

Responsibilities

• Provide advice on complex and large-scale construction-related disputes arising from building construction projects

• Prepare bill narratives and summarise the nature of completed work

• Contribute to marketing the firm’s initiatives, particularly within the area of specialisation
• Take personal responsibility for own professional development in line with the Firm’s values and business needs
• Raise professional profile in the industry through involvement with external bodies, as appropriate
