Job summary

Michael Page (Hong Kong) is seeking an in-house Construction Lawyer/Legal Manager to support a leading infrastructure group. You will draft and negotiate construction agreements, advise on risk allocation, EOT, remedies, disputes, and provide pragmatic legal guidance across projects from tender to completion.

The successful candidate will hold 5–8+ PQE in Hong Kong, England & Wales, Australia, Singapore or equivalent, with a law degree and fluency in English and Chinese.

Qualifications

• 5-8+ PQE qualified lawyer in Hong Kong, England & Wales, Australia, Singapore or other common law jurisdictions, or candidate with solid construction experience.
• Degree in Law, Construction Law, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related discipline.
• In-house or law firm experience in construction/infrastructure sectors.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, negotiate and advise on a broad range of construction-related agreements.
• Provide legal support throughout the project lifecycle from tender to completion.
• Advise on contract interpretation, entitlements, risk allocation, variation claims, EOT, liquidated damages and disputes.
• Provide practical and commercially focused legal advice to business stakeholders on day-to-day matters.
• Support contract administration and project risk management initiatives.
• Manage and coordinate construction-related disputes, adjudications, arbitrations, mediations and court proceedings.
• Work with external counsel, experts, and consultants on litigation and dispute resolution matters.
• Support corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and internal policies.

Job Description

• Draft, review, negotiate and advise on a broad range of construction-related agreements
• Provide legal support throughout the project lifecycle, from tender stage to project completion.
• Advise project teams on contract interpretation, contractual entitlements, risk allocation, variation claims, extension of time (EOT), liquidated damages and project disputes.
• Provide practical and commercially focused legal advice to business stakeholders on day-to-day operational matters.
• Support contract administration and project risk management initiatives.
• Manage and coordinate construction-related disputes, adjudications, arbitrations, mediations and court proceedings.
• Work closely with external counsel, experts, and consultants on litigation and dispute resolution matters.
• Support corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and internal policies.
• Monitor legal and regulatory developments affecting the construction industry.

The Successful Applicant

• 5-8+ PQE Qualified lawyer in Hong Kong, England & Wales, Australia, Singapore or other common law jurisdictions Or candidate with solid legal experience in construction area
• Degree in Law, Construction Law, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
• A reputable law firm with strong construction/infrastructure practice; and/or
• An in-house legal role within construction, engineering, infrastructure, property development, or related sectors.
• Fluent in English and Chinese.
