Director of AI R&D (3D Vision & Mobile Computing)

We are looking for a highly experienced AI leader to drive cutting-edge 3D vision and mobile AI technologies, and to bring advanced algorithms into real-world retail and edge intelligence applications.

Responsibilities

Lead the research and development of advanced 3D computer vision algorithms, including but not limited to 3D reconstruction, 3D object detection and tracking, and 3D pose estimation. Continuously improve algorithm accuracy, efficiency, and robustness in real-world business scenarios.

Drive the development of mobile-side computer vision (CV) solutions, implementing core algorithms in C++ to ensure high performance under constraints such as low latency and low power consumption.

Explore and apply state-of-the-art techniques in computer vision, machine learning, and deep learning, and propose innovative technical solutions to address complex real-world challenges.

Lead technical solution design, architecture review, and critical problem-solving efforts. Collaborate closely with product and engineering teams to ensure a smooth transition from R&D to production deployment.

Produce high-quality technical documentation, including algorithm design documents, technical specifications, and interface definitions. Mentor junior engineers and elevate overall team capabilities.

Manage and grow the algorithm team, including task planning, progress tracking, and quality control, ensuring efficient and successful project delivery.

Qualifications

Education

Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or related fields.

Experience

Minimum 5+ years of experience in algorithm development, with end-to-end project experience from research to production deployment.

Proven ability to independently lead and deliver complex algorithmic projects.

Leadership

2–3+ years of team leadership experience (or equivalent technical lead role), with a track record of delivering complex projects.

Strong technical decision-making capability, cross-functional collaboration skills, and ability to drive high-quality execution.

Technical Skills

Solid foundation in mathematics, including linear algebra, probability & statistics, and calculus.

Extensive experience in 3D computer vision, such as 3D reconstruction, point cloud processing, stereo matching, etc.

Proficient in C++ (C++11 or above) with strong coding practices and experience using STL for efficient development.

Hands-on experience in mobile CV development (C++ on mobile platforms), with a solid understanding of mobile hardware architecture and performance optimization. Familiarity with Android and/or iOS development environments.

Strong knowledge of computer vision, machine learning, and deep learning frameworks (e.g., OpenCV, TensorFlow, PyTorch).

Soft Skills

Ability to work under pressure and passion for cutting-edge technology and innovation.
