Job summary

HKT seeks an experienced Senior AI/ML Engineering Leader to design and deliver end-to-end AI solutions for enterprise clients in Hong Kong. You will drive multi-disciplinary teams across product management, business analysis, UI/UX, and frontend engineering.

The role requires 8+ years in software engineering with 3+ years in AI leadership, and hands-on use of modern AI frameworks, prompt engineering, and robust CI/CD for AI workloads.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.
• 8+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 3 years focused on AI/ML solutions and 2+ years in a senior technical leadership role.
• Experience in Forward Deployed Engineering (FDE) capacity, wearing PM/BA/Tech Lead hats to deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Proficiency in Vibe Coding tools and modern web technologies (React, Next.js, Python, Node.js).
• Deep understanding of LLMs, Generative AI, and AI pipelines; experience with LangChain, LlamaIndex, Hugging Face, or fine-tuning; CI/CD for AI.

Job description

• Design and deliver comprehensive AI/automation solutions from concept to production, leveraging the latest AI development frameworks (LangChain, LlamaIndex, AutoGen, etc.).
• Adopt a Forward Deployed Engineering (FDE) methodology: Act as the primary technical lead on client engagements, integrating Product Management, Business Analysis, UI/UX, and Frontend Engineering into a cohesive delivery stream.
• Own the full lifecycle of solution delivery, including requirement gathering, architectural design, development, testing, and post-deployment optimization.

2. Toolchain Optimization & CI/CD Automation

• Continuously develop, refine, and enhance internal AI application development toolkits to reduce friction in the development process.
• Build and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines specifically optimized for AI workloads (model versioning, prompt testing, data pipeline integration).
• Identify bottlenecks in the delivery process and implement automated solutions to streamline workflows, reducing manual effort and increasing deployment frequency.
• Leverage AI-driven methodologies (e.g., AI-assisted coding, automated testing) to accelerate solution delivery and prototyping cycles.
• Establish a "rapid prototype" culture, delivering MVPs (Minimum Viable Products) and PoCs (Proofs of Concept) within days, not weeks.
• Iterate quickly based on client feedback, using AI tools to adjust scope and functionality in real-time.

4. Advanced Prompt Engineering & "Vibe Coding" Mastery

• Lead the development of advanced prompt engineering strategies for complex, multi-step AI tasks.
• Master and teach "Vibe Coding" (intuitive, context-aware coding assisted by AI) and Harness Engineering (building robust, scalable AI applications).
• Implement Agent Loop Methodology: Design and deploy autonomous AI agents that can plan, execute, and self-correct tasks with minimal human intervention.
• Stay ahead of the curve in LLM behavior, fine-tuning strategies, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) architectures.

5. Continuous Learning & Thought Leadership

• Maintain up-to-date proficiency with emerging AI technologies, automation tools, and industry best practices.
• Conduct regular knowledge-sharing sessions with the team on new models, frameworks, and security considerations.
• Contribute to the company’s intellectual property by developing reusable AI components, templates, and best-practice guides.

To succeed in this Role

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
• 8+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 3 years focused on AI/ML solutions, with 2+ years in a senior technical leadership role (Senior Manager, AVP, or Principal Engineer).
• Experience working in a Forward Deployed Engineering (FDE) capacity, wearing multiple hats (PM, BA, Tech Lead) to deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Proficiency in "Vibe Coding" tools (e.g., Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Windsurf) and modern web technologies (React, Next.js, Python, Node.js).
• Deep understanding of Large Language Models (LLMs), Generative AI, and machine learning pipelines. Experience with frameworks like LangChain, LlamaIndex, Hugging Face, or custom fine-tuning, and CI/CD for AI.
• Experience delivering solutions to enterprise clients, with strong communication skills to translate technical AI capabilities into business value.
• Certifications in AI/ML (e.g., AWS Machine Learning, Google Cloud AI, Azure AI) are a plus.
• Background in building AI-native products or platforms is a plus.
