Job summary

Sun Life in Hong Kong seeks a lead High-Net-Worth specialist to provide expert advisory on complex wealth planning and insurance solutions for HNW clients. The role partners closely with distribution teams, advisors, and external professionals to structure sophisticated client solutions, drive business growth, enhance HNW capabilities, and strengthen Sun Life’s market position in the HNW segment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level or higher in taxation or law; professional qualifications preferred.
• Minimum 12 years of related experience in finance/insurance.
• Strong knowledge of Hong Kong insurance market and overseas trusts.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and execution of complex HNW client solutions including wealth preservation and cross-border planning.
• Act as subject matter expert for HNW advisory and legacy planning.
• Coach and develop HNW capabilities across the organization through training and knowledge sharing.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to strengthen differentiated HNW propositions.
• Monitor regulatory developments to support strategy and propositions.

Job Description:

The incumbent serves as the lead High-Net-Worth (HNW) specialist, providing expert advisory support on complex wealth planning and insurance solutions for HNW clients. The role partners closely with distribution teams, advisors, and external professionals to structure sophisticated client solutions, drive business growth, enhance HNW capabilities, and strengthen Sun Life’s market position in the HNW segment.

Job Responsibilities

• Lead the design and execution of complex HNW client solutions involving wealth preservation, succession planning, trust structures, taxation, and cross-border planning.

• Act as the subject matter expert for HNW advisory, providing technical guidance and thought leadership on wealth structuring and legacy planning.

• Support and develop HNW capabilities across the organization through coaching, case consultation, training, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.

• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop differentiated HNW propositions and strengthen strategic partnerships with professional service providers.

• Monitor market trends, regulatory developments, and emerging client needs to provide insights that support business strategy and proposition enhancement.

• Partner with distribution leaders and advisors to support client acquisition, relationship deepening, and achievement of HNW business growth objectives.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or above with solid academic and professional background in taxation or law, relevant professional qualifications or certifications.

• At least 12 years related experience, preferably in insurance/banking/finance industry etc.

• Strong understanding of the Hong Kong insurance market and interest in the insurance industry.

• Extensive knowledge of and practical experience with overseas trust structures.

• Proven in-depth understanding of the financial, taxation, and legal needs of Mainland China High Net Worth individuals.

• Familiarity with overseas taxation or legal systems and related client advisory requirements.

• Excellent presentation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills; strong research, analytical, and learning capabilities.

• Good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, including Cantonese and Mandarin

• Well-established networks within taxation, legal, trust, or related professional services fields, with the ability to source and develop new business partners.
