Job summary

Manulife John Hancock is seeking a seasoned communications leader for Asia to drive external communications and executive visibility across the region. You will craft messaging, prepare leaders for media engagements, and manage high-profile opportunities in a complex financial services landscape.

You will monitor regional issues, coordinate with Legal and Compliance, and guide a team to deliver trusted communications. Strong writing and stakeholder skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of media experience, including regional media relations and reputation management in financial services or highly regulated industries.
• Strong understanding of corporate communications in financial services sectors in Asia.
• Established relationships with regional and international media and experience securing high-impact coverage.
• Ability to advise senior leaders and manage stakeholders across functions and markets.
• Exceptional writing, editing, presentation and storytelling skills for diverse audiences.
• Strategic thinker with strong media instincts and regulatory awareness across Asia.
• Experience leading PR agencies, managing budgets and resources, using insights to improve outcomes.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, multicultural organization with integrity.

Responsibilities

• Lead Asia-wide media relations and outreach aligned with business priorities; secure high-impact coverage and opportunities.
• Develop storylines, messaging, briefing materials and talking points for senior leaders for media engagements.
• Monitor regional issues and advise leadership on media response; coordinate with Legal, Compliance, Risk and market teams.
• Track media performance and governance; oversee agency objectives and ensure regulatory compliance.
