Job summary

Raycon Inc. is expanding into AI-powered devices and seeks a Director of AI to own the hardware-software backbone. You will lead the engineering team, drive integration across firmware, apps, and cloud AI processing, and manage China-based vendors to ensure fast, high-quality delivery.

You will collaborate with the VP of Product to shape the roadmap, balance speed with rigor, and build scalable processes as the product portfolio grows. Remote-friendly with HK/China focus.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in hardware-connected products (firmware/embedded).
• Experience with China-based hardware vendors and overseas manufacturing.
• Proven track record scaling engineering teams.
• Fluent in native mobile (Swift/SwiftUI, Kotlin/Java) and hybrid (React Native, Flutter); backend (Node.js/TypeScript).
• Excellent communication; customer-first decision making.

Responsibilities

• Lead and scale Raycon's AI device software engineering team.
• Own hardware-software integration from firmware to cloud AI processing.
• Manage China-based hardware/vendor relationships to protect timelines.
• Own product roadmap in collaboration with the VP of Product.
• Translate technical tradeoffs to management, and business priorities to engineers.
• Establish fast customer-feedback loops without sacrificing stability.
• Build scalable code review, testing, and release processes.
