Job summary

Manulife is seeking a qualified professional in Hong Kong to manage derivatives onboarding and related operations. You will coordinate onboarding with Relationship Management, Product Management and Portfolio Managers, ensuring compliance and smooth setup of trading accounts and brokers.

You will also maintain dashboards, support best-execution needs, collaborate with Legal and Global teams, and continuously improve processes to mitigate operational and financial risk in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business with 3+ years in asset management or investment operations.
• Experience with client onboarding/KYC and derivative account opening preferred.
• Knowledge of collateral, derivatives, or other investment products is a plus.
• Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Team-oriented with good interpersonal skills and adaptability in a fast-changing environment.
• Excellent organization and multi-tasking capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Receive derivatives trading requests and assess required documentation and system setups.
• Facilitate derivatives trading approvals and onboarding governance for new accounts.
• Maintain status dashboards of account openings and present them in meetings.
• Support traders' need for best execution by setting up derivatives brokers.
• Coordinate onboarding for new accounts and brokers.
• Coordinate derivatives trading readiness within Asia Derivatives Services including MO, operations and collateral management.
• Coordinate with Legal to ensure necessary agreements are in place.
• Maintain account, broker onboarding, and legal documents.
• Maintain a matrix of accounts, derivative products, agreements, and brokers.
• Contribute to managing external broker relationships.
• Work with Derivatives Solutions to set up technology for new derivatives.
• Own side projects to clean records and validate broker setups.
• Harmonize onboarding process with Global Derivatives Services in Boston.
• Evaluate and recommend practices to increase efficiency and mitigate risks.
• Collaborate with peers across Asian territories.
