Job summary

Tung Wah Group invites applications for a Dental Surgery Assistant to assist Dental Officers in clinical and outreach settings, sterilize and supply dental materials, and undertake related duties. The ideal candidate should have 5 HKCEE subjects including English and Chinese, fluent Cantonese, and preferably a Certificate of Proficiency in Dental Surgery Assistant or a pass in the probationary examination.

The appointment is on contract, with a monthly salary of HKD 19,930 and fringe benefits

Qualifications

• 5 HKCEE subjects at Grade E or above including English Language and Chinese Language or equivalent.
• Able to speak fluent Cantonese.
• Preferably: Certificate of Proficiency in Dental Surgery Assistant or pass in probationary exam for Dental Surgery Assistants.

Job description

• Assist the Dental Officers in the treatment of patients in clinical and outreach setting;
• sterilize and supply dental materials;
• undertake other related duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate should have/be:

• 5 subjects at Grade E or above in HKCEE including English Language (Syllabus B) and Chinese Language or equivalent;
• able to speak fluent Cantonese; and
• preferably:
  (i) a Certificate of Proficiency in Dental Surgery Assistant issued by the Prince Philip Dental Hospital; or
  (ii) a pass in the probationary examination for Dental Surgery Assistants run by the Department of Health or the former Medical and Health Department or equivalent.

The successful candidate will be appointed on contract terms with a salary currently at $19,930 per month (Tung Wah Master Pay Scale Point 5). The salary is subject to downward/upward adjustment or may be frozen as determined by Tung Wah and/or as appropriate with reference to the civil service pay review. The fringe benefits include paid annual leave, medical services, a dental scheme and training sponsorships.
