Job summary

Appnovation Technologies is seeking a Project Manager Director to oversee multiple complex projects across the APAC region. You will coordinate with project managers, leaders, and stakeholders to align with budgets and timelines, develop strategies, allocate resources, and mentor other PMs.

Role requires 10+ years in project management within a global digital services environment, with hands-on AI tool usage and strong client management. Travel to clients across APAC and lead proposals as needed.

About the Role

As a Project Manager Director, you will oversee and manage multiple complex projects. Coordinate with project managers, team leaders, and stakeholders to ensure projects are aligned with strategic goals, budgets, and timelines. The role involves developing project strategies, allocating resources, managing risks, and evaluating project performance. Additionally, the Project Manager Director will provide mentorship and guidance to project managers, contributing to the overall success of our client\'s project portfolio.

Responsibilities

• Be accountable for program/portfolio/project success.
• Structure, review and oversee all project components in the team\'s portfolio: planning, executing and closing.
• Manage large, complex programs and projects to an acceptable level of risk by balancing cost, scope, time and quality.
• Be an escalation point and engagement manager for projects in the team\'s portfolio.
• Resolve issues, mitigate risks, foster project change control, scope management, budget tracking, and forecasting, as well as develop and review all project assets.
• Facilitate meetings to discuss progress and resolve delivery and client issues.
• Assign project work assignments and tasks to project teams.
• Stay current on industry events and environments that shape opportunities for client solutions (e.g., news events, trends, mergers, etc.).
• Educate and ensure our end-to-end delivery processes are followed by our global onshore and nearshore teams, including teams across multiple APAC markets.
• Identify and champion opportunities to apply AI tools within project delivery — for example, using AI for status reporting, risk flagging, resource forecasting, or documentation — to improve efficiency and quality across the portfolio.

• Travel from time to time to engage clients and foster rapport, including clients based across different APAC countries.
• Drive customer-consulting efforts in the portfolio, build/maintain relationships with clients\' senior leadership team, facilitate key meetings and present consulting deliverables as needed.
• Lead by example and provide vision, direction and purpose to the team.
• Grow our PM talent and ensure knowledge-sharing, including sharing practical AI tool adoption across the team.
• Clarify and communicate program objectives and success criteria.
• Collaborate with other members of the Delivery leadership team to define best practices and optimally load balance the work.
• Mentor and motivate staff with the goal of team retention, engagement and productivity.
• Participate in recruitment and hiring activities - including screening, interviewing and conducting other hiring exercises within the Program Management Discipline.
• Actively seek opportunities to increase sales of Appnovation services.
• Lead proposal efforts and can sell Appnovation\'s value proposition.
• Able to identify and shape cross-sell opportunities with current clients.
• Create compelling proposals - including RFP responses, SOWs, Change Orders and estimations.
• Protect the integrity and accuracy of sales estimates.

Role Requirements

• 10+ years of project management experience with a proven track record delivering large digital solutions with substantial logistics, complexity and budgets.
• Consulting, professional services or digital agency background at a global, full-service digital company.
• Proven, hands-on experience using AI tools in a project management context (e.g., AI-powered reporting, forecasting, documentation, or delivery tools) — able to speak to specific tools used and outcomes achieved.
• Experience working with or managing teams across multiple countries within the APAC region, with an understanding of regional nuances (time zones, working norms, client expectations).
• Client management experience and ability to drive business development efforts and/or sell consulting services to new and existing clients.
• Proven track record of leading significant RFP responses.
• Strong presentation, negotiation, facilitation and team-building skills.
• Willingness to work flexible hours as required - connecting and collaborating with colleagues in different time zones.

NICE TO HAVES

• Project Management and/or Scrum Master certifications.
• Business analysis and requirements management experience.
• Familiarity with AI governance or responsible AI use in a client delivery context.
