Job summary

Michael Page International (HK) Ltd in Hong Kong is seeking a Data Engineer (Capital Markets / FinTech) to design and build enterprise-grade data platforms, ETL pipelines, and cloud-based solutions for data management and analytics.

The role requires strong Java and Python skills, hands-on data modelling, and experience with relational and NoSQL databases, cloud environments, and distributed ledger data ingestion.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software development and data engineering in capital markets or fintech.
• Strong Java and Python skills with experience in data modelling and technical documentation.
• Experience with Oracle, PostgreSQL, GaussDB, OceanBase or NoSQL databases.
• Experience in both public and private cloud environments.
• Excellent communication skills; fluent English plus Cantonese or Mandarin.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable ETL workflows for real-time and batch data processing in Java and Python.
• Standardize, validate, and cleanse data; automate data quality monitoring.
• Manage data transfers and schema evolution across relational, NoSQL, and OO databases.
• Develop and maintain data models and comprehensive data documentation.
• Deliver cloud-based data solutions and ingest/structure distributed ledger data.
• Lead collaboration forums, gather requirements from stakeholders, translate needs into data structures, and provide advanced analytics support.
• Establish data security, access governance, and ongoing data quality monitoring frameworks.
