Michael Page International (HK) Ltd seeks a Data Architecture Director for a premier Hong Kong bank. Lead enterprise data architecture, governance, and regulatory reporting programs, aligning data strategy with business goals and risk management.

You will mentor a team of data professionals and partner with senior management to translate complex data concepts into regulator-ready guidance and actionable data platform roadmaps.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in IT, CS, Data Management, Finance or related discipline.
• 10+ years in enterprise data architecture, data management, data platforms, or enterprise architecture in banking/FS.
• At least 5 years of leadership experience managing technical and business-facing data teams.

Responsibilities

• Define and lead target enterprise data architecture including data domains and MDM.
• Design data architectures supporting regulatory reporting (HKMA, Basel, IFRS).
• Develop end-to-end data lineage capabilities for transparency and audit readiness.
• Lead Data Governance framework with data quality, glossaries, governance processes, and KPI monitoring.
• Define strategic roadmaps for data platforms covering ingestion, storage, warehouse/lakehouse, and analytics.
• Present executive/regulator-ready recommendations to senior management.
• Mentor and develop a team of data architects, analysts, and engineers.

Data Architecture Directer - Bank/ Perm/ Bonus

As a Data Architecture Director in the financial services industry, you will play a key role in leading data-driven initiatives and overseeing transformation projects in the organisation. Based in Hong Kong, this role focuses on leveraging technology to enhance enterprise data strategies.

Our client is a well-established Hong Kong-based commercial bank with a strong presence in retail, corporate, and treasury banking services.

As a Data Architecture Director, your main responsibilities will include:

• Define and lead the organization's target enterprise data architecture, including data domains, canonical data models, master data management, and data ownership structures.
• Design data architectures that support regulatory and management reporting requirements, including HKMA, Basel, IFRS, liquidity, finance, and risk reporting.
• Develop end-to-end data lineage capabilities to improve transparency, traceability, and audit readiness.
• Lead the implementation of a comprehensive Data Governance Framework, including data quality standards, business glossaries, governance processes, stewardship models, and KPI monitoring.
• Define strategic roadmaps for enterprise data platforms covering data ingestion, integration, storage, warehouse/lakehouse environments, and data consumption through reporting, analytics, and APIs.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to senior management, translating complex data concepts into executive and regulator-ready presentations and recommendations.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of data architects, analysts, and engineering professionals while fostering a strong data-driven culture.

A successful Data Architecture Director should have:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Management, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in enterprise data architecture, data management, data platforms, or enterprise architecture within the banking or financial services sector.
• At least 5 years of leadership experience managing technical and business-facing data teams.
• Strong knowledge of banking data, core banking systems, regulatory reporting, risk management, and finance data domains.
• Deep expertise in data modelling, metadata management, master data management (MDM), data lineage, and ETL/ELT frameworks.
• Solid understanding of modern data platform architectures, including cloud, hybrid, warehouse, and lakehouse environments.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and relationship management capabilities.
• Fluency in both English and Chinese, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Annual base salary ranging from HKD 1,080,000 to HKD 1,200,000.
• Additional benefits include a 12-month salary package plus performance-based bonus.
• Permanent role based in Hong Kong.
