Job summary

DFI Retail Group's Group Insights team seeks a motivated Data Analyst Intern to support data-driven decisions across retail brands such as Welcomed, Mannings, 7-Eleven and IKEA.

You will assist with supplier performance reviews, analyze sales trends, prepare executive-ready reports, and help assemble actionable sales enablement materials for internal partners. This internship offers hands-on FMCG and retail analytics exposure.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Business Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, Finance, Information Systems, or related quantitative discipline.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel (advanced formulas, PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP; Power Query is a plus).
• Knowledge of data visualization tools (Power BI or Tableau) is highly preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint for translating raw data into clear presentations.
• Strong analytical mindset with high attention to detail.
• Good communications skills to summarize technical findings into clear, actionable commercial insights.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and work collaboratively in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Language: Fluent in English; Cantonese or Mandarin is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support sales and inventory data report running and analyses.
• Assist regular supplier performance evaluations, tracking fill rates, margin contributions, and promos.
• Help identify commercial trends, stock anomalies, and growth opportunities within supplier portfolios.
• Prepare routine and ad-hoc analytical reports, summaries, and scorecards for commercial managers and executives.
• Maintain internal dashboards (Power BI, Tableau, Excel) to track performance metrics.
• Organize, format, and synthesize insights into slide decks and sales briefing materials; collaborate with Category Management, Sourcing, and Marketing.
